The Entrepreneur Channel Ltd announces a move from the Sky Platform.

The Entrepreneur ChannelIn September 2006 The Entrepreneur Channel was launched on the Sky Digital Platform – offering a range of Home Study Courses to aspiring Entrepreneurs. The Company also launched an innovative “On Demand” streaming video service for all of its TV programmes – over a year ahead of the BBCs launch of its own iPlayer for streaming programmes.

Right from its first year of Broadcast the Entrepreneur Channel was a financial success – with pre-tax profits of around £1million in its first year of broadcast. The company’s format clearly worked - and worked well – leading to it winning a coveted Business of the Year Award in 2007.

In the past five years, the balance of web based sales to TV sales however has dramatically shifted, with 95% of the company’s sales now being made online.

The Entrepreneur Channel is now therefore developing applications to deliver more programming and resources for Entrepreneurs via Smart phones, portable devices etc.

The Entrepreneur Channel also today announced that it has sold its Sky EPG slot as part of its focusing on internet based marketing channels.

Also launching this month are 18 brand new products , the first of which have today been featured on the company’s website at www.ec.tv

Simon Venn, Operations Director for the Channel, said “We are very excited about the potential of online sales and in particular the development of applications which we will be rolling out later this year for mobile devices. We have enjoyed working with Sky and play-out provider Arqiva over the past 5 years – but are now focusing on the core of our business – internet based sales.”
